The Kildare County Childcare Committee was formed in 2001 to promote
cross-agency co-operation and co-ordination in the delivery of Childcare
Services at a local level. A Childcare Strategy and action plan was
produced by Carrefour NUI Galway and Debairéad & Associates and it
is aimed at supporting the development of quality childcare services
in County Kildare and places parity of esteem on the development of children
and the creation of opportunities for parents.
The membership of the County Kildare Childcare Committee has been drawn from
the statutory sector, the social partners, community and voluntary sector, childcare
providers and parents of children. The mission statement of County Kildare Childcare
Committee agreed by the members is "Promoting quality, accessible childcare
for all children from birth to 14 years in County Kildare."
