Parent & Toddler Groups
A Parent, Baby & Toddler Group is a local support group where parents and carers can meet to compare notes and develop friendships in a safe and friendly environment while their children play and socialise together. In a Parent & Toddler Group, each parent or carer is responsible for their own children at all times.
Advantages to Children
- Children get to interact with other children but have their parent close by. This can be a great help in building up a child’s confidence
- Parent & Toddler Groups provide a stepping stone for children preparing to go to playgroup
Advantages to Parents
- Great to meet other parents in similar circumstances and realise that you’re not alone
- For some parents, Parent & Toddler Group can be the only social contact during the day. Parent & Toddler Groups can provide a great support network and can be especially helpful to parents who do not have family support close by.
