Welcome to the second edition of our 2008 newsletter. As you can see, the KCCC staff have been busy implementing programmes and activities to enhance the quality and practices of all those involved in developing quality childcare services in Co. Kildare.
On 17th April, our Strategic Plan 2007-2010 and Needs Analysis was launched in Bright Sparks Community Childcare facility in Allenwood by Kildare County Council County Manager, Michael Malone. The Launch was well attended and gave us the opportunity to visit this wonderful childcare facility for the community of Allenwood and surrounding areas.
KCCC are delighted to be able to offer advice and support to both community and private
childcare services under the National Childcare Investment Programme 2006-2010. This
year, Kildare has been allocated €8.8 million in capital grant aid for the development of such facilities. Our Development Workers Fidelma Martin and Marianne Casey, assisted by our admin team Emily Moore and Alison Kelly, have been working extremely hard over the last few months with groups and individuals to develop quality applications which we hope will result in the development and extension of existing childcare services to meet the needs of our growing and diverse populations in County Kildare.
Inside this edition you will find many articles of interest and details of our annual Family Fun Day to be held on June 28th in Donadea Forest Park.
We look forward to continuing to work with you all through 2008 and beyond.
