Minister For Children
As you are no doubt aware, the formation of the new Government has been announced and Barry Andrews TD, has been appointed as the new Minister for Children.
Minister Andrews was first elected to Dáil Eireann in 2002 as a Fianna Fail TD from the Dún Laoghaire constituency. He was the Government convener of the Education and Science Oireachtas Committee and Vice Chair of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on European Affairs. Before entering public life, he was a secondary school teacher until 1997 when he qualified as a barrister. Minister Andrews is a member of the Dún Laoghaire Historical Society and a Governer of the Royal Irish Academy of Music.
